PARIS, Oct 19 (AFP) - Eurotunnel, which operates the Channel rail tunnel linking France and Britain, reported a one percent rise in third-quarter sales Wednesday to EUR 206.2 million compared with the same period last year.

Eurotunnel's shuttle service, its principal activity, also posted a one-percent sales increase to EUR 114.2 million.

The company said that while its shuttle service for trucks enjoyed a "significant" gain during the quarter, sales from transporting tourist vehicles and buses declined in response to stiff price competition from Channel ferries.
