Egypt releases arrested French reporters: newspaper
Four French journalists arrested while reporting on anti-government protests in Cairo have been released, said Le Figaro newspaper, which employs one of the reporters.
"They were arrested in the street by plain clothes police officers who released them after about an hour of discussions. They were not taken to a police station," said senior editor Philippe Gelie on Friday.
A diplomatic source said the other three arrested were from Journal du Dimanche newspaper, Sipa photo agency, and Paris Match magazine.
Protests demanding the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak spread across Cairo after Friday prayers, AFP reporters said, as nationwide demonstrations entered their fourth day.
