Drunken gunman kills one in France: police
A drunk man killed one person and injured two when he opened fire with a gun in the street in southwestern France on Sunday, police said.
The man in his sixties came out of his apartment "steeped in alcohol" and fired at people outside a laundrette in the town of Bayonne on Sunday afternoon, local police official Philippe Jamet said.
He was overpowered and arrested after injuring three people, two of them seriously. One of them, a man aged 25, died in hospital with a bullet wound to his liver, a hospital source said.
Jamet said the motive for the attack was unknown.
