International leaders have pledged 575 million euros (820 million dollars) to complete a permanent shelter around Ukraine's exploded Chernobyl reactor, French Prime Minister Francois Fillon said Tuesday.

"The pledges that we took on today represent a considerable sum of 575 million euros," Fillon told reporters at a Kiev conference held on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the nuclear catastrophe.
