Denmark's Princess Marie pregnant: royal court
Danish Prince Joachim and his French-born wife, Princess Marie, are expecting their second child, the royal court announced Wednesday.
"Their royal highnesses Prince Joachim and Princess Marie have the pleasure of announcing that Princess Marie is pregnant," the royal court said in a statement.
"The birth is expected to take place at the national Rigshospitalet hospital at the end of January 2012," it added.
The child will be the couple's second, following two-year-old Prince Henrik.
Prince Joachim, who is the second son of Queen Margrethe and Prince Consort Henrik, is sixth in line to the Danish throne after his elder brother Crown Prince Frederik and his four children with Australian-born Crown Princess Mary.
Joachim, who has two other children from his previous marriage to Hong-Kong-born Duchess Alexandra, the princes Felix and Nikolai, married Marie, nee Cavallier, on May 24, 2008.
