ARRAS, France, Sept 10, 2007 (AFP) - A rally-driver who caused the death of a child Saturday in the northern French town of Arras had taken cannabis, justice officials said Monday

Fabien Vericel, 35, was placed under judicial investigation for "involuntary homicide aggravated by use of cannabis."

Vericel's Toyota car went out of control in the annual Rallye du Bethunois, hitting a child who later died.
