Day 10: Behind the scenes at the Cannes Film Festival
Behind the scenes at Cannes
REVELATIONS: The hotly-tipped lesbian love story "Blue is the Warmest Colour" is making a star of one its little known lead actresses Adele Exarchopoulos. The film, which has stirred controversy for its graphic sex scenes, is the favourite among French critics for the festival's top Palme d'Or prize.
L'Express newspaper hailed Exarchopoulos as the "revelation of Cannes" while magazine Telerarma praised a "haunting performance" and French film site Premiere called her a "thundering revelation".
NO SHOWS: Ryan Gosling missed the premiere of his ultra-violent new film "Only God Forgives" on Wednesday. Now Joaquin Phoenix too will be absent from the premiere later Saturday of James Gray's "The Immigrant". Phoenix, who stars with Marion Cotillard and Jeremy Renner, is unable to attend due to filming commitments, a report said.
