Czech dies in paraglider crash in French Alps

GRENOBLE, France, March 29 (AFP) - A 35-year-old Czech man died Monday when the paraglider he was piloting hit a pole in a French Alpine ski resort, officials said.

GRENOBLE, France, March 29 (AFP) - A 35-year-old Czech man died Monday when the paraglider he was piloting hit a pole in a French Alpine ski resort, officials said.

The accident broke both the man's legs and badly hurt his face. Paramedics at the resort of La Plagne were unable to revive him when they arrived at the scene.

The ski patrol said it was the first fatal paraglider accident to happen in the area.
