Creative writing five-day workshop in southern Burgundy

24th March 2010, Comments 0 comments

Award winning poet Valeria Melchioretto presents an imaginative and sensory approach to creative writing at this five-day workshop.

Add an enriched dimension to both your prose and your verse writing by accepting this invitation to immerse yourself in a sensory experience at Les Cerisiers, a family run creative arts centre nestling in the Charollais hills of southern Burgundy. This picturesque location provides a unique setting to connect with all five senses and allows you to jot your experience down on paper.

Whether you have previous writing experience or not, you will be encouraged to produce new writing based on guided exercises throughout the week, leading to the production of an anthology and celebratory reading of the work.

In addition Valeria Melchioretto, author of The End of Limbo and Podding Peas, will provide the opportunity for an individual tutorial.

Melchioretto won the New Writing Ventures Competition for Poetry judged by Andrew Motion in 2005 and was awarded a bursary from the Arts Council of England in 2006. She was shortlisted and commended for the Irish Glen Dimplex Prize, the Geoffry Dearmer Prize and the Single Poem Forward Prize. She is a Hawthornden Castle Fellow.
