PARIS - Parisian strip cabaret the Crazy Horse is hiring French dancer and choreographer Philippe Decoufle as its new artistic director.
The cabaret said Monday that the 47-year-old choreographer, who directed the Cannes film festival's 50th anniversary celebration in 1997 and the Albertville Winter Olympics in 1992, would expand the cabaret's range of performances and organise a new show for summer 2009.
"New tableaux will be born from the original, artistic and colourful eye of one of the greatest French choreographers of our time," said the cabaret's manager Andree Deissenberg.
In September 2007, Decoufle choreographed events for the World Rugby Cup.
