DUBLIN, Feb 8, 2007 (AFP) - Biarritz lock David Couzinet received a six-week ban for stamping here Thursday but even so he may not miss a match.

Couzinet was censured by a European Rugby Cup (ERC) disciplinary hearing for stamping during a European Cup tie away to English side Northampton on January 21 and was banned for six weeks, up to and including March 22.

However, Biarritz's next match isn't until they play in the Top 14 French Championship on March 23 against Albi.

Couzinet is not a member of the France squad currently playing in the Six Nations Championship so his international prospects are not directly affected by this ban while Biarritz's European Cup quarter-final, also against Northampton, on March 31 in San Sebastian.

Both parties have the right of appeal.
