AJACCIO, Corsica, Sept 13, 2007 (AFP) - A bomb blast Thursday damaged the offices of the tourism promotion agency of the French Mediterranean island, but no one was injured, the interior ministry said.

The blast at 1:44 am (2344 GMT Wednesday) shredded the door and shattered several windows of the building located in city centre.

Experts at the site were not able to immediately say what kind of explosives were used, but said the charge was not large.

Corsica has been plagued by more than 30 years of low-level violence waged by separatists opposed to French rule.
