Christmas in Paris? Eiffel Tower offers snow-racket treks

PARIS, December 12, 2007 - Tourists visiting the Eiffel Tower at Christmas will be offered a pair of snow rackets for a sky-high trek across the Paris landmark, clad in white for the festive season, organisers said Tuesday. A coat of artificial snow 20 to 30 centimetres (eight to 12 inches) thick will run around the first of the iron tower's three floors, 57 metres (125 feet) above ground.

Snow rackets will be provided free of charge for all visitors above the age of four, as part of a photo exhibition on the North and South Poles running from December 19 to 31.

With some 6.7 million visitors last year, the Eiffel Tower is one of the world's most visited landmarks.
