PARIS, March 5 (AFP) - French President Jacques Chirac will meet in Paris on Monday with Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi's son Said al-Islam Kadhafi, head of a foundation that negotiated a compensation deal for relatives of those killed in the 1989 bombing of a French airliner.

The Kadhafi Foundation signed an agreement on January 9 to compensate the families of the victims of the attack, blamed on Libya, lifting the last obstacle to a normalisation of relations between Paris and Tripoli.

Chirac has since met with Libyan Foreign Minister Abdelrahman Shalgham and called for France and Libya to resume good relations.

Under the deal, Libya agreed to pay 170 millions dollars, or one million dollars per victim, of the September 1989 bombing of the UTA airliner over Niger, in which 170 people from 17 countries were killed.

French Trade Minister Francois Loos travelled to Libya Friday for a visit he said signalled a recovery in economic ties between the two countries.
