GLENEAGLES, Scotland, July 7 (AFP) - French President Jacques Chirac on Thursday condemned the "inexcusable" and "odious" murder of Egypt's envoy to Iraq Ihab al-Sharif, abducted in Baghdad at the weekend.

Speaking at a press conference during the Group of Eight summit in Gleneagles, Chirac said he condemned "most forcefully the odious murder" of the ambassador-designate.

He called it another "inexcusable drama" on a day when dozens of people were killed by bomb attacks in London.
