PARIS, June 1 (AFP) - French President Jacques Chirac and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder will meet on June 14 in the western German city of Aachen, three days ahead of the European Union summit, Chirac's office said Tuesday.

The bilateral talks, also attended by the two countries' foreign ministers, are part of the so-called Blasheim process - regular meetings traditionally held before the EU summit to allow Paris and Berlin to harmonize their views.

The proposed EU constitution, the scheduled June 30 transfer of power in Iraq and European industrial policy, including the future of struggling French engineering giant Alstom, are the issues likely to dominate the talks.

The EU summit will take place June 17-18 in Brussels.

Chirac and Schroeder will hold talks followed by a joint press conference and a working dinner, the French leader's office said.

The two will meet in Normandy this weekend for ceremonies marking the 60th anniversary of the D-Day landings. Schroeder is the first German leader ever invited to the commemorations of the Allied landings.

Chirac and Schroeder will also be together next week in the United States for the Group of Eight (G8) summit on Sea Island, Georgia.
