China's Hu leaves France for Portugal
China's President Hu Jintao left France Saturday at the end of a lavish three-day state visit that cemented the two countries' previously strained ties.
Hu took off from the airport in the Mediterranean coastal city of Nice, bound for Lisbon according to the schedule given by French officials.
Before leaving he visited a factory that makes components for electric cars for the French firm Schneider Electric, a company spokesman who asked not to be named told AFP.
France's President Nicolas Sarkozy was celebrating a diplomatic victory after winning Hu's support for his upcoming G20 presidency and plans for global financial reform.
