WASHINGTON, May 31, 2007 (AFP) - US President George W. Bush and French President Nicolas Sarkozy will hold their first formal talks next week on the sidelines of the G8 summit in Germany, the White House said Wednesday.

WASHINGTON, May 31, 2007 (AFP) - US President George W. Bush and French President Nicolas Sarkozy will hold their first formal talks next week on the sidelines of the G8 summit in Germany, the White House said Wednesday.

"The president looks forward to meeting president Sarkozy on the margins of the G8 in Germany next week," said US national security council spokesman Gordon Johndroe, who did not give a precise date.

It will be their first bilateral meeting since Sarkozy took office earlier this month.
