CARCASSONNE, France, Sept 16 (AFP) - A British man was knifed to death overnight and another badly wounded in a fight with Latvians in a hotel in the southern French town of Carcassonne, police said Friday.

Police were called to the hotel near the town's airport shortly after midnight after staff reported the disturbance. The wounded man was taken to hospital and two Latvians were detained for questioning.
