LILLE, France, July 4 (AFP) - A French lifeboat Sunday rescued the four crew members of a catamaran that was sinking off the coast of France near Calais while sailing from Britain.

Officials at the operational centre for the lifeboat service said the four sailors, two Britons, a Frenchman and a Spaniard, had been hospitalised in Calais suffering with mild hypothermia.

The eight-meter (26-foot) catamaran, the Sun Dawner, had left Ramsgate in southeast England and capsized about six nautical miles off the French coast, officials said.
