Bomb alert on French high-speed train

PARIS, June 27 (AFP) - A high-speed TGV train linking Paris with the southeast French city of Lyon was stopped on the tracks on Sunday following a bomb alert, the state rail authority SNCF said.

PARIS, June 27 (AFP) - A high-speed TGV train linking Paris with the southeast French city of Lyon was stopped on the tracks on Sunday following a bomb alert, the state rail authority SNCF said.

The train, which pulled out of Paris at 1:15 pm, was stopped around 100 kilometres (60 miles) south of the capital after a suspicious package was discovered on board," the source said.

Passengers were transferred onto another train, while bomb disposal experts carried out their investigation.
