PARIS, Aug 3 (AFP) - The body of a boy believed to be of African origin was discovered in the wheel bay of an Air France flight when it arrived in Paris from Canada, French police said Wednesday.

The corpse of the boy, thought to be aged around 15, was discovered Tuesday in the undercarriage of an Airbus A330 jet coming from Montreal.

The incident was the second of its kind reported in Europe in less than 24 hours. Earlier on Wednesday Belgian radio said that the body of a would-be immigrant had been found in the landing gear of a Royal Air Maroc plane that arrived in Brussels from Casablanca on Tuesday.

In the Air France incident, an officer said that banknotes from the west African state of Guinea were found in the pockets of the dead youth, but there were no identity papers.

Investigators believed the boy probably did not climb into the wheel bay in Canada but rather during a stopover the plane made in Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo, on July 30.

In Brussels, Belgian radio station RTBF said an unidentified corpse was found late on Tuesday in the landing gear of a Boeing 747 after it arrived from the Moroccan city of Casablanca.

The Brussels prosecutors office was not available for comment.
