MEAUX, France, Sept 5, 2006 (AFP) - The body of a man who is believed to have fallen from the landing-gear of an incoming aircraft has been found in fields near Charles de Gaulle airport outside Paris, police said Tuesday.

The corpse, which was discovered Monday, has been consigned to a forensic institute in Paris where specialists will try to determine the man's origin and date of death.

Illegal immigrants who stow away in the landing gear of aircraft face a high risk of freezing to death, falling or being crushed by the machinery, police said.
