PARIS, Oct 14 (AFP) - The Bank of France said Thursday it expected the French economy to grow 2.5 percent this year, standing by its previous forecast.

The central bank said that the economy was expected to grow 0.6 percent in the third quarter from the previous three months, followed by 0.7 percent in the last quarter of the year.

The Bank of France's forecasts are slightly more optimistic than those from the official statistics institute, Insee, which expects third quarter growth of 0.5 percent and fourth quarter growth of 0.6 percent bringing the increase over one year to 2.4 percent.

The central bank's business sentiment indicator stood at 105 points in September compared with 104 in July.
