Amnesty employee, others 'arrested in Cairo'
Egyptian police on Thursday arrested a French employee of human rights group Amnesty International and several other activists at a rights centre in Cairo, the London-based group said.
Military police surrounded the Hisham Mubarak Law Centre and prevented people leaving, an Amnesty spokeswoman told AFP, before non-military police moved in and detained the employee and "a number of human rights activists."
"The colleage has been arrested and taken to a police centre," the spokeswoman said.
Activists, including another Amnesty employee, are still being held inside the rights centre.
