PARIS, July 8 (AFP) - All Western countries are potential targets for terrorism, Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy said Friday in reaction to the bomb attacks on the London transport system.

"No one can say today that he is not a target," Douste-Blazy said in an interview with LCI television.

"What is of the utmost importance is to feel that there is good cooperation among the intelligence services, and above all a flawless political will" to defeat terrorism, he said.

He spoke of the need to study the social conditions in certain countries and their link with terrorism -- an issue he said he had discussed with officials from Libya, Mauritania, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia.

"I am sure there is a way for us westerners to work in an intelligent fashion, perhaps at the level of the World Trade Organization, to give these countries a stake in world trade," he said.

Douste-Blazy said four French citizens were among those injured in the London blasts, of whom three remained in hospital in satisfactory condition.
