Airbus unions call end to French strikes
Unions at planemaker Airbus's French sites called Friday on workers to end their strikes after management offered to reopen negotiations on pay, union officials said.
Unions at three Airbus plants had since Monday organised a string of rotating strikes on assembly lines to press demands for higher pay and oppose moves to shift some production to Germany.
Management had refused to raise its offer of a 1.9 percent pay hike for 2010 but on Friday said it agreed to reopen talks and offered to meet union leaders next Tuesday, unions said.
