Airbus raises list prices of planes
European planemaker Airbus announced Tuesday an average increase of 4.4 percent in the list price of its aircraft, with the price tag of its A380 super-jumbo jumping 8.3 percent.
"As we continue to ramp-up production rates to meet the unprecedented global demand for Airbus aircraft, the required industrial investments we are making, coupled with a weak dollar, necessitates raising our aircraft prices across the board," John Leahy, the commercial director, said in a statement.
Airbus said on Monday that it delivered 510 planes last year and won 574 orders worth $84 billion (63 billion euros) at list prices, surpassing 10,000 orders over its 40-year history.
