Airbus logs 785 orders in first half 2011
European plane maker Airbus logged 785 firm orders for its jets in the first half of 2011, it said in a statement on Friday.
"The July bookings brought Airbus' total net orders for 2011 to 785, and raised the overall backlog to the highest-ever record level of 4,039 aircraft," it said in a statement.
It said it had delivered 298 planes so far this year, including 12 of its A380 superjumbo.
Airbus, owned by European group EADS, logged a $72 billion (50 billion euro) haul of orders at the Paris Air Show in June, including a record deal to sell 200 of its new fuel-efficient A320neo medium-haul jets to Malaysia's AirAsia.
