Air France said on Tuesday it will fly the Airbus A380 'super jumbo' on its Tokyo route from September 1 this year.

Services will begin at three times a week and then be daily from October 5, the company said, adding that Tokyo will be its first A380 destination in Asia.

Air France already uses the giant aircraft -- the world's biggest civilian plane -- on services to New York and Johannesburg.

Air France ordered 12 A380s and has so far taken delivery of three.
