Air France jet returns to Houston over mobile phone find
An Air France jet returned to Houston, Texas 30 minutes into its flight to Paris after a mobile phone was found on the plane and its owner could not be located, the airline said Wednesday.
Passengers' security was at no time at risk during Tuesday's incident, an Air France spokesman said.
Air France's website said the plane, a Boeing 777-200 with 228 passengers and 15 crew on board, left Houston on Tuesday at 4:29 pm (2229 GMT) and returned to the Texan city at 6:47 pm.
It took off again at 8:57 pm after a check by US security officials and landed at Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport on Wednesday at 1:39 pm, with a five-hour delay.
The spokesman did not give details about the mobile phone which was handed over to US authorities.
