PARIS, Sept 29 (AFP) - Air France-KLM said Thursday its Air France unit would raise its fuel surcharge on long-haul flights by six euros as of Tuesday, bringing the total long-haul surcharge to EUR 44 per flight segment.

The surcharge on medium-range flights will be raised by two euros, to EUR 12, and the surcharge on domestic French flights will increase by one euro to eight euros, also from October 4, the airline said.

Air France said these new increases would be cancelled if oil prices fell below US $55 per barrel for 30 consecutive days.

In Asian trade Thursday, New York's main contract, light sweet crude for delivery in November, was up four cents to US $66.39 a barrel from its close of US $66.35 on Wednesday in the United States, where it had shot up US $1.28.
