Air France-KLM traffic rises August

PARIS, Sept 7 (AFP) - The new airline Air France-KLM said Tuesday that passenger traffic had risen by 6.6 percent in August from the figure 12 months earlier, in line with capacity which increased by 6.5 percent.

PARIS, Sept 7 (AFP) - The new airline Air France-KLM said Tuesday that passenger traffic had risen by 6.6 percent in August from the figure 12 months earlier, in line with capacity which increased by 6.5 percent.  

The combined group said the load factor, the percentage of available seats paid for, edged up by 0.1 percentage points to 81.7 percent, with 5.7 million passengers carried.  

The increase in passenger traffic was stronger at Air France, up by 7.1 percent, than at KLM, up by 5.9 percent.  

The cargo load factor for the group decreased 0.8 points to 64.3 percent, with the 6.8 percent rise in traffic lower than the 8.2 percent rise in capacity.
