Aegis says in exclusive talks with Ipsos over Synovate sale
British advertising and marketing group Aegis said on Wednesday it has entered "exclusive" discussions with French firm Ipsos over the sale of its Synovate market research division.
"Further to the announcement on 6 June 2011, the board of Aegis Group plc confirms that it is in exclusive discussions with Ipsos in relation to a potential sale of Synovate," Aegis said in a brief statement.
"There can be no certainty that any agreement will be reached. Further announcements will be made as appropriate."
Aegis had already announced earlier this month that it was in talks with Ipsos to offload Synovate, with British media reporting a potential price of about £500 million ($800 million, 560 million euros).
