An Air France flight flying between Tunis and Paris was re-routed on Corsica on Sunday after a suspect music player was found.

Paris – An Air France flight linking Tunis and Paris was re-routed to Corsica on Sunday after cabin crew found a suspect music player on board, the airline said.

The pilot changed course for Bastia, at the northern tip of the French Mediterranean island, after none of the plane's 178 passengers claimed the digital device.

"The pilot decided to follow standard procedure which is to re-route the plane towards the nearest airport, disembark the passengers and carry out a complete search," said an Air France spokeswoman.

Passengers were to reboard the plane once the decontamination was complete, and were expected at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris at 4:40 pm, more than seven hours behind schedule, an airport official said.
