PARIS, Feb 28, 2006 (AFP) - Some 30 countries are now restricting or banning imports of poultry and poultry products from France as a result of a bird flu outbreak in the country, the French government said Tuesday.

PARIS, Feb 28, 2006 (AFP) - Some 30 countries are now restricting or banning imports of poultry and poultry products from France as a result of a bird flu outbreak in the country, the French government said Tuesday.

The news, from the ministry for trade, signalled an increase in the number of countries imposing such restrictions. On Monday, junior trade minister Christine Lagarde said around 20 countries had applied total or partial bans.
