Music - 'Classic au Vert'
August 4 - September 23, 2008
Fans of classical music rejoice every year when it's time again for this musical festival. Bring a picnic basket to the Parc Floral and enjoy concerts that incorporate "the colors of Italy, flavors of Spain and Russia, and the magic of yiddish folklore and Argentine tango, before returning to the landscape of French music." The concerts are free, but entry to the park is EUR 5. The full list of concerts is available on the website below.

Music - Philip Glass
In the setting of the beautiful Grand Palais, which is currently hosting five enormous steel sculptures by Richard Serra, composer Philip Glass will be giving a solo piano performance. Glass will be reacting to and performing "within" Serra's sculptures. Tickets are only EUR 4 and the show will begin at 7:30pm.

Festival - 100% Finland
Until June 30, 2008
The Finns are invading Paris this spring, thanks to a collaboration between the city of Helsinki and the Finnish Institute in Paris. The 100% Finland festival celebrates Finnish culture and the links between the two countries with more than 250 performances and exhibitions around the country. Music - Counting Crows

The folk rock outfit from San Francisco will be coming to Paris to sing "Mr. Jones" and other favorites. The show begins at 7:30 and tickets range from EUR 35-40.

Parade - Paris Pride Festival
June 28, 2008
The famous « Marche des fiertés lesbiennes, gaies, bi & trans » will be held in Paris at the end of June and, as always, is centered around a raucous parade. A colorful procession through the streets of Paris will begin at Denfert Rochereau and wind through the city arriving at Bastille. More information is available on the website below.

Music - Madonna

The Material Girl will be selling her Hard Candy at the Stade de France come September. Tickets range from EUR 62 to 190 and have already sold out, so fans are at the mercy of the scalpers.

Festival - Paris Quartier d'Eté
July 14 - August 15, 2008

Music - Solidays
July 4-7, 2008
The 10th edition of this festival to collect funds and fight against AIDS will be held at the Hippodrome de Longchamp. Nearly 60 artists will perform over 3 days, including the Gossip, Vampire Weekend, and Yelle. Tickets are EUR 25 (one day pass), EUR 35 (two days), and EUR 45 (three days).
