Gabriel de Saint-Aubin Paris | 01/04/2008 - 26/05/2008

February 21 - May 26, 2008
Marginal in his own time, Gabriel de Saint-Aubin was a unique chronicler of bohemian Paris under the reign of Louis XV - an artist who roamed the streets of the capital with a sketchbook in his hands. His work was rediscovered by the Goncourt brothers and widely praised for its liveliness of execution and freedom of expression. This exhibition brings together seven rare paintings and a selection of remarkable etchings, and more than sixty drawings. Entry is included in the price of admission to the Louvre, EUR 9. The museum is open most days from 9am - 6pm, and until 10pm on Wednesdays and Fridays.
