Bilingual schools in France
If you're living in France, here's a list of well-known bilingual schools in France for your child to enter the French education system.

The choice of school for your bilingual, bicultural child depends on a long list of factors, including their general scholastic aptitude, the length of your stay in France, plus your address and your budget. Here is a selection of well-known bilingual schools in France.

French public schools offer a generally high level of instruction and many children integrate perfectly well into the French-only classroom. But there are also many reasons to opt for bilingual education, including the need to keep your child on a curriculum comparable to what they'll return to in your home country or simply because you want them to socialise with other international children like themselves.

For many, an international section in a French public school is a good compromise; while the French curriculum is state-funded, some international sections are tuition-based. See our Guide to the French education system for more explanation.

Open Doors provides English literacy classes for English-speaking children in St Nom la Breteche (78860) and has been operating since 1985. Our classes are compatible with the French school timetable and all our pupils attend French school. Over 90 children, aged 4-11 years old, are currently enrolled. We employ only qualified primary school teachers who are native English speakers. They have wide experience of both an anglophone education system and bilingual children. All nationalities are welcome but good spoken English is required. Open Doors is a non-profit making association run by parents. Fees are kept to a minimum.
