Look at London City Airport (LCY), Antwerp airport (ANR), Iasi (Romania), Sibiu (Romania), Timisoara (Romania), Groningen (Holland), Lugano (Switzerland). All small airports, thriving, making happy thousands of air travellers and bringing oxygen to the adjacent economical life. I am a business traveller, so getting in and out Berlin the same day is an asset. Travelling to Tegel, Schönefeld or the future Brandenburg airport will be a total flop.
Why Germans do not realize the business potential and the historic duty of preserving this historically unique airport alive? I will never understand.
The only thing I can say, is that I will remember for ever the name of the evil mayor who killed this dream for his own political agenda! Basically, the article displays the dutch as being impolite, rude, inflexible and not very friendly. Though some of those descriptions might fit, most of them do not.
