Security chiefs meet following British attacks 02/07/2007 00:00

PARIS, July 2, 2007 (AFP) - French Interior Minister Michele Alliot-Marie called for extra vigilance Sunday following the latest attacks in Britain.

"Even if there is no specific threat today, France is still a potential target for terrorism," she said after a meeting with security chiefs in Paris.

At the meeting it was decided not to increase the ministry's "Vigipirate" alert rating from its current level.

Britain is on high alert after a double car bombing plot was foiled in London Friday, and attackers rammed a burning car into the terminal at Glasgow airport on Saturday.
