Paris rail union announces new strike next week 06/12/2007 00:00

Strike called for Wednesday December 12

PARIS, December 6, 2007 (AFP) - A union representing workers on the Paris metro system on Thursday announced plans to go on strike next week to push for more concessions in talks over pension reform.

The General Labour Confederation (CGT) said members were disappointed by the progress of negotiations that were launched at the end of a crippling 10 day national rail strike last month.

It said the strike call for Wednesday December 12 could be rescinded if there are new proposals from management and government.
