Antwerp | 29/01/2010 - 30/01/2010 Ben Hur

Performances of this major arena extravaganza based on the book Ben Hur (1880) by Lewis Wallace, as part of the European tour. The production by Franz Abraham includes the famous chariot race scene where five quadrigas compete in a neck and neck race around the arena floor. The 'stars' of the show are the thoroughbred horses, who together with a team of trainers and charioteers, have undergone 12 months of intensive training. The show is directed by Philip Wm. McKinley and is starring Sebastian Thurn, 70 acrobats and dancers, 32 horses, 100 doves, three falcons, two eagles, two vultures and two donkeys. Stewart Copeland founding member and drummer of The Police wrote the musical score and Mark Fisher, famous for the opening and final ceremonies of the Olympic Games in Beijing did the design.
