The perfect haircut: The Spaniard who cuts hair with fire
Is this the world's 'perfect' haircut? This Spanish hairdresser discovered blowtorches are an essential tool for cutting a 'mathematically' symmetrical haircut.
In search of a method to create the perfect, symmetrical haircut, a Spanish hairdresser found swords, blow torches and 'finger scissors' to be the most 'mathematically exact' method.
Albert Olmedo, a hairdresser with his own salon in Madrid, said most barbers couldn't cut hair to equal lengths on both sides of your head, and the only way to achieve this was to be precise and mathematical.
This led Albert to create his alternative haircutting techniques, which he admitted are a 'bit medieval', involving cutting clients' hair with a blowtorch set at 1,300 C (2,372 F), slicing locks with Samurai swords and using blades attached to his fingers to get the perfect shape, reminiscent of Edward Scissorhands.
But as Albert claims, the only way to achieve the exact 'mathematical' haircut is to cut both sides simultaneously, which his techniques allow him to do.
You can see Alberto Olmedo's unique haircutting method in the video below, and decide for yourself whether it is the best haircut in the world.
