3 January 2006, BARCELONA — Woody Allen is to shoot his next film in Spain, possibly doing much of the filming in Barcelona.

BARCELONA — Woody Allen is to shoot his next film in Spain, possibly doing much of the filming in Barcelona.

Though the title and stars have not been announced, Allen has announced he will do the filming in Spain from 2007.

Allen said he will write and direct his English-language script for Barcelona-based production house Mediapro.

The film will star international and Spanish actors.

Allen said: "I'm happy to be able to work with Mediapro and make a film in Spain.

"I hope that I'll be able to enjoy my stay in Spain, a country that has become very special to me."

Allen's new film 'Match Point', which stars Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers, is released on 6 January.

He has shot his two latest films in Britain.
