MADRID — The El Prado art museum opened its doors especially for US film director Woody Allen, his wife Soon Yi and children Bechet and Manzie Tio.

Although the museum is closed to the public on Mondays, Prado authorities agreed to arrange the private visit of the famed comedian, writer, actor and director so that he and his family could view their artistic treasures.

Allen was received at the door of the museum by the chairman, Rodrigo Uria, and several curators, who accompanied him on his tour.

The 68-year-old director arrived in Spain on Friday to participate in the ceremonies for the 25th anniversary of the Prince of Asturias Foundation, which in 2002 awarded him its prestigious Prize for the Arts.
