Wind turbine maker Gamesa reports 20% profit rise
Spain's Gamesa, one of the world's top wind turbine manufacturers, reported on Thursday a 20-percent rise in net profits during the first nine months of the year on the back of international sales.
The company posted a net profit of 30 million euros ($41 million) during the period, up from 25 million euros during the same time last year.
Sales rose to 2.02 billion euros from 1.79 billion euros, it said in a regulatory filing.
Gamesa announced in May it had won a $2 billion agreement with Caparo Energy India Ltd to deliver wind turbines with a combined capacity of 2,000 MW over the next five years.
In September it announced it announced a new contract with a state-owned Chinese firm, Huadian New Energy Development Company, to build 200 megawatts of wind parks in China's Inner Mongolia province.
