TORREVIEJA - Spanish police arrested two British wanted sex offenders at a house in Torrevieja near Alicante where they were staying together.

Named as B.T., aged 67, and G.S. aged 45, they were both arrested on Tuesday

B.T. had been convicted in Britain for sexual abuse against children and possessing pornographic material involving children.

G.S. was convicted of possessing pornographic material depicting children and had been accused of abusing children.

Police said they were both on the Sex Offenders' Register in Britain. B.T. was classed as 'high risk' while G.S, was classified as 'medium risk'.

Interpol alerted Spanish police about the possible presence of both men in Torrevieja, a town popular with British expats, and of the danger they represented to children.

Neither men have been accused of sex offences in Spain.

Both have been remanded in custody for possible extradition to Britain to complete their sentences.

Meanwhile, in Alicante, police arrested a Montenegran man, aged 34, who is considered 'violent and dangerous' and is wanted in his country for a violent robbery.
