PARIS — Two Eta terrorist suspects accused of buying weapons for the Basque separatist organisation have been arrested in France.

Asier Quintana Zorrozua and Gracia Morcillo were detained at a flat where they lived in Saintes in south-west France.

Both are believed to be senior members of Eta.

The operation was carried out with French and Spanish anti-terrorist officers.

Spain's leading anti-terrorist court had issued an arrest for warrant for the pair.
