Madrid – A metro train derailed on Tuesday in the centre of Madrid during the morning rush hour, causing one wagon to hit a wall and injuring two passengers, a metro spokesman said.

Two people suffered light bruises and another two were treated for anxiety attacks, he told AFP. Spanish media had initially reported four people had been slightly injured.

The second wagon of the train derailed just as it was entering the Moncloa station at around 9:30 am (0730 GMT). The passengers were all evacuated from the first wagon of the train which has already entered the station.
